IYA NI WURA (MOTHER IS GOLD)

Iya ni Wura! Iya ni Wura mi! Mother is Gold, my mother is indeed a Mother. It has always been a controversial issue among children who should be more appreciated between the fathers and the mothers. While some quarters support the motion of the father being the more important and as such should be the more appreciated parent, many others still believe that the mother should be regarded as the more important and favourite parent.

Though everyone is free to decide who is more pivotal to a child's life among the two parents, it is imperative to say that "the mother is much more essential a child than the father" without ignoring the importance and usefulness of the 'father figure' in an individual's life.

On a personal note, I think the mother is much essential to the child's development, mental, sociocultural and spiritual soundness all of which are cogent ingredients needed by every child who is expected to be a sound minded, responsible and well mannered individual. She tends to understand the child's plight better when it comes to issue relating to development, puberty, adolescence, peer pressure and personal discoveries every child experiences at certain stages in life.

The mother understands the silence of her child as she also has an idea on the child's outburst or occasional purge of emotions as the case may be. None of these takes away the functions and usefulness of the father but it is clear that the most important things related to a child's development is best managed by the mother.

My own mother (Wura Mi), My Gold, My one and Only Love who has been the Captain of my ship so far in my life has been able to do all the aforementioned things. She has done many more that ordinary words can't describe and the mind can't remember. She has been there for me when I needed her most, made sure that I get filled even if she has to go hungry and also bestowed upon me countless things most times at her own detriment. She was there for me then the world closed their doors, stood by me when I was weak and couldn't stand on my own. She gives me her whenever I fall, she brought me to mother Earth when she could have chosen to abort the pregnancy that became Qudus.

Why shouldn't I worship her? Why shouldn't I place her high? Why shouldn't I cherish the woman who understood me when I was incomprehensible to others? Why shouldn't she be my GOLD?

My Mother is Gold, My Mother is Unique, My Mother is indeed a Mother. Iya ni Wura, Iya ni Iya mi, Wura mi ni Iya mi! My Mother is My Gold, Silver, Diamond and Emerald.

Thank you momma!
