IMPERFECTIONS
Imperfections makes us human. It is the drive of our existence. If we had everything perfect for us, maybe we won't challenge ourselves to be better people. Imperfections are forces that stimulate our development as humans. Imperfections are essential to every man; not for being less but for being better.
There are steps to getting better and working towards perfection. These steps must be strictly followed in order to become 'a better version' of one's self. To start with, we must learn to identify and embrace our imperfections. No one is perfectly molded internally and externally, physiologically or psychologically. Something somewhere is usually left behind in the composition of a being. It is important to know whatever it is one's imperfection might be just as it is important to know one's strengths.
Moving forward, it is equally important to devise, search and research ways to live with, work with one's imperfections. You need a plan, a guideline or an outline to be a better person. Oftentimes, people sing the 'new year, new me' song but it is quite funny that nothing changes in their lives during the course of the year or throughout the year. Becoming a better person involves a lot of conscious effort not just mental notes. Different things work for different people so whatever your 'better me' plan, outline or guideline is, it has to be person-specific (tailor based).
Also, meeting with the right people is essential in the race to becoming a better person. What better way to overcome an imperfection rather than getting in touch with the right persons who are seasoned in such areas? . Depending on what the imperfection(s) might be, it is imperative to move closer or reach out to the right people who could be of help to one's cause at the right time. No one is an island of anything ; everybody needs somebody. We must cultivate the habit to learn from others, be it their mistakes, actions, inactions or lessons.
Furthermore, becoming a better version of yourself isn't done overnight. It takes time to get better. Like the popular saying, 'Rome wasn't built in a day', we all need to time to get to our levels of strength. There might be occasional regressions, possibly failure in procedures, need for change in routine. All of these are just bumps along the way, they are deterrents. These shouldn't be the reason(s) for one's stop in the journey towards self discovery and development. No one promises a smooth journey, what we all hope for are safe journeys.
In conclusion, it is essential to know that only God can be perfect and as humans, we'll always have one area or the other of our lives and being to improve on. We should always work towards becoming better people, but we should also reckon with the fact that our imperfections are there to push us to becoming more than what we are.
