2018: A YEAR OF DEFINING MOMENTS
An amazing 12 months it has been so far this year. Several things have
happened; people have lived, died, succeeded, gone bankrupt, progressed,
regressed among several other things. Events and happenings have rocked the
whole world around us both at home and abroad. Discoveries have been made;
several start-ups have opened channels and ways for human advancement and
development.
Everyone would surely have peculiarities to talk about; those which
happened during the year. During the course of the year, relationships have
been made, severed, repaired or restored. Courtships have evolved into
marriages, some have remained static and some became toxic and eventually
broke. Marriages have broken, couples have gone their separate ways and
one-time lovers have gone become strangers and haters. One thing or the other
has happened to everyone during the course of the year that has taught each and
every one of us one lesson or the other.
Personally, the year has been a very productive year for me. Even if it
began on a rather slow and drab note, things took shape during the year.
Several plans came into perspective, ideas became creative start-ups,
creativity mixed with commitment and dedication saw me produce some of my
best-written materials up-to-date. I've learnt several new things in life and
one of the big lessons learnt during the course of the year is the fact that ‘'
one can never justify his or her actions objectively unless when criticised,
analysed, discussed or thoroughly checked by others.
The year began for me with a happy though reoccurring event; my birthday
which came up on the 12th of January. It was one of the best days of
my life. Not that it was all merry and jolly but it was surely a day worth
remembering for me and my loved ones. Fast forward to few months after my
birthday, I came in contact with one of the most amazing people I've ever met
in my life - Abdulmalik Maryam Lolade. The events, moments, scenes and
scenarios that took place after our meeting are ones I can’t forget even if we
are ending the year on a rather ‘distant’ note.
Minutes from seconds became hours. These hours became days, days that
turned into weeks and several weeks culminated into months. Months of different
events and happenings; some of them I still like to remember and many others I
don’t want to think of. Months filled with right and wrong decisions, happy,
sad, boring, lively, jocund and merry days, moments preciously shared with
wonderful people and occurrences that made the heart bleed. Defining moments
were central to the several decisions made during the year.
Moments that had to do with either regretting the decisions made or
sticking to the choices and alternatives selected. Moments of rage when the
crudest and meanest of conversations took place, moments when the best of
words, statements and expressions were uttered as a result of wonderful
happenings and events. Moments of brilliance, moments of realism and real-life
problems, moments of realisations, fight, struggle, victory, loss, pride,
downfall and success.
Moments that shaped how the rest of the year went b, moments that made
me feel loved and adored. Moments of happiness with individuals like Salah
Raheemat Motunrayo brought about good feeling
and right state of mind. Moments of despair, need, pain, hunger, rejection,
dejection, heartbreak, tears and mood swings all took place during the course
of the year. These moments happened due to several reasons; some of them
self-engineered, some unwanted and unknown, some situational, some life-posed
and others coincidental.
Defining moments of the year has gotten me to where I am today. Allah
(SWT) has come through for me in all ramifications throughout the year. Lessons
have been learnt both in the normal way and in a hard way. The events of the
year have shaped me and made me a better person. I now know what to do, when to
do it and how to do it. 2018 has been an amazing year for me. Let's have a
wonderful 2019 together!
I am Quadri Qudus Bolaji (QIDAKINGIN) by name, keep winning!
