COVID-19: A REALITY DAWNS ON ALL

COVID-19: A REALITY DAWNS ON ALL

It doesn't matter what is happening or how it's happening, what matters is what we make out of what is happening.

It was late last year when all and sundries started making plans for the new year (2020). A lot was done, we were happy preparing for a new dawn full of hope to move into a new year with new purpose. The year lapse and there; the beginning of new dawn, the time to excel until the battle of survival started and the world is on stand still. New words are being added to everyone's vocabulary even the toddlers learn of it too quick. Far and wide, the world started fighting with a pandemic. Alas! Thousands are positive as Covid-19 looms. Words such as quarantine, isolation, lockdown, social distancing, physical distancing, nose masks, hand sanitizer and many more become frequently used. Everyone is scared for his/her life, nothing else matters; not our plans for the year, not the wedding we wish to storm, just our precious life. It's a common non-sensical saying that the fear of Corona is the beginning of wisdom. Covid-19 has systematically deprived every individuals the rights to education and many more.

Does it matters if there's covid-19? Do we need to soil our plan(s) for the year? In a singular opinion, it doesn't matter what covid-19 has stalled, what matters is how effective we can maneuver the negative effect of covid-19 to be positive. During this pandemic, many has started developing their intellects, many are showing new potential, many are exhibiting new talents, some have become a great thinker and many more. However, every individuals are trying to reconnect with their maker (God) so far no one promises tomorrow.

The reality of covid-19 has evidently prove that the western education does not necessarily guarantee your success, it pays to be educated but much better to diversify your knowledge. Just yesterday, it was stated in almost all news outlet the cancelation of waec in the whole of Nigeria, something the country never planned for. The greatest question, what if all remain still as it is (may God forbid)?

The reality of Covid-19 towards private enterprise, private schools inclusive. It is evident now through covid-19 that things cannot continue to be rosy. The private schools are losing thousands if not millions, companies are laying off staffs I'm order to outsmart debt, banks deducting thousands as stamp duty to avert bankruptcy or selling off to other commercial bank. Aren't we all human on the long run?

The reality of Covid-19 towards the religious leaders. Isn't it evident that you are to lead us aright and not to swindle us. Anywhere, our prayers can be answered not until you put your hands on our heads, not until you cart away thousands if not millions from us. Is enough not yet enough?

The reality of covid-19 to the family members, parents to children mostly. Isn't it evident that we cannot be together forever. Why do we still hate on another's glory, I think it's all our glory together. Why the need to show love to some and hatred to others. Does that mean our path might not cross again?

The reality of covid-19 to the rich and also the poor. Isn't it evident that riches also cry and when you die, the poor shall bury you. It's pertinent you show the less privileged love. And to the poor, is not clear to you yet that your stubbornness will not go a long way?

The reality covid-19 is dawn on all and sundries that we only make plans, the success of these plans is with our maker. No one ever knew 2020 will be like this. Endnotes: it doesn't matter what covid-19 has spoiled, what matters is how we navigate the negativity of covid-19 to be positive.
